It's almost over, it's almost over!

Okay guys, the premiere is on Saturday the 18th! We've been editing quite a lot since I got back from England on the 26th... And filming too. The movie will wrap on Friday. Which gives us just about 24 hours to finish the editing. It's been an exhausting experience but we're getting close to turning in a movie that will be funnier, more compelling, more dramatic, more intense, and certainly more technically sound than the first. We'll also be showing the first film again at the premiere.

Another busy day of filming... we got a big scene done (scene 10 - police precinct) which is nice. some great little bits were added during filming which is always great. Tomorrow - SuperHuman returns! Ricky wraps! Big things are happening and its about damned time. Till next time,

All in a Day's Work

What a day! 9am call. a new early-record for the Seamus franchise, I believe. And we still managed to run out of light! We filmed a secret scene with just Kivel. About $20 and a 20 mile drive went into about 45 seconds of footage. thats the only hint you get.

Then, lots of editing with Aidan and lots of footage of me, Ricky, Tim, and Mr. Roche. For scene 18 for you script-keepers. CJ swung by to help out - thanks go out to him! And heavy thanks to Ricky and Tim who had to run around in heat and rain all day for no money and did not complain! So thanks guys youre making Seamus 2 a very special project to work on.

Between the scene Aidan and I just finished the sound design on (the "Big Fite") and the chase sequence we were filming, I'm getting a lot of confidence that this will easily top the first film on almost any level. It's certainly gonna "looK" and "sound" a ton better, let alone a more developed plot, more relaxed running time, and bigger, better action.

Tomorrow and Wednesday nights - we film the big scene, 10. Wednesday we'll also try to get the prologue Meldrik shot, a quick reshoot for scene 3a, the two Kivel/Tim montages, and the carjacking scene (which we weren't able to get to today on account of too much location shooting for our camera battery to last).

Big Plans

We've been working a lot on editing. There are some big things in this movie that we're very excited about. We're gonna try to get the big stuff done early next week, as far as filming goes. Things are starting to come together, and it's exciting. The plan now is to film Monday thru Wednesday, pretty much nonstop, to try to get in as much as we can before everyone's vacation and school plans start to slow shit up. I'll keep you posted. Ha.

So it begins...

Steve here, as promised. Early July has finally reared its head and we are staring down two weeks of hard work that might end with a completed Seamus 2!!

First up is me getting a haircut to match my hair a year ago. And tomorrow my co-director and I will have a grueling meeting. The plan is to review everything we've shot and compare that with the script, and see what needs to be filmed, re-filmed, edited, or written (you never know). Very exciting.

Then a brief vacation for the 4th (we'll have earned it, don't worry) and hopefully some productive filming Thursday-Saturday. It will be done. Oh yes, it will be done.

Looking Ahead

Well, I've been thinking about the summer, and early July, we will be finishing this movie! For an August premiere. We did end up doing scene 3a in the police precinct, back in December, but still have a bit more to go. There's the scene 1 reshoot with Andy and Ego, some brief stuff with Tim and Ricky, one more police precinct scene with SuperHuman, some Aidan and me stuff, and one shot with Kivel on a beach. I think we can handle that. On a related note, Aidan, Evan, Mark, and my band, the Minstrel Cycle, will hopefully be finishing up an album in the same timeframe, maybe both can be released simultaneously. I really hope to get these two projects done. Seamus 2 traces its genesis to 2002, the Minstrel Cycle album will contain stuff recorded in May 2004. So these have been long-term and I'm looking forward to finishing. That's it. Can't wait till summer - I'll have plenty to report.

Finally, we're back with a vengeance. We'll be filming in Kivel's basement on Saturday December the 23rd. Here's whats on the bill:
